Programme
1. Introduction to the Montessori Educational method: the theoretical basis providing a good grounding for the practical parts of the programme.
- The developmental stages of the human being
- The sensitive periods
- The human tendencies
2. Glenn Doman: in the programme, the work is based on reading cards, ‘bits of intelligence’ picture cards, mathematics, listening to music and physical activity sessions.
3. Personal autonomy: what activities should the child be offered for working on their own and how should the space be prepared.
4. Freedom of movement: at this stage it is essential to respect all the developmental stages of the child and therefore it is necessary to avoid restricting movement
5. The process of language acquisition: this section works on the importance of stimulating the richness of language, since it begins to develop in the womb, and therefore the child should be offered the maximum possible experiences.
6. The importance of habits and routines: at this stage it is essential to maintain an order and routine in order to provide security and confidence in the environment in which the child lives and so that they can anticipate what will happen.
7. Preparation of the home environment: this section offers suggestions on how to adapt the different spaces in the home in order to meet the developmental needs of your child, looking to encourage their participation and autonomy at all times.
8. The role of the adult: taking account of the fact that the child is in the absorbent stage, it is important to bear in mind the example we set as adults. Observation is a key tool for the adult in order to know how to meet the specific needs of the child at any given time.
9. Freedom and Discipline: the aim is to develop the child’s autonomy and independence in an environment of freedom, while respecting the basic rules of coexistence.
